Foreign citizens living in Armenia also can get free vaccination against measles at mobile point in Yerevan

Foreign citizens living in Armenia also can get a free vaccination against measles at the mobile point located at 2 Amiryan Street in capital Yerevan. Gayane Sahakyan, head of the National Immunization Program of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, told a press conference on Friday.

She added that according to local law, this vaccination is free for Armenian citizens within the framework of the national vaccination calendar of Armenia. But in connection with the current outbreak of measles in the country, a decision was made to give also foreign citizens living in Armenia the opportunity to protect themselves from this disease.

"Armenia is provided with the [measles] vaccine, as it is a routine vaccination, and we always have supplies," she said.

Cases of infection after receiving two doses of the vaccine against measles are extremely rare, and they have not been recorded at all in Armenia.
