About 28% of children in Armenia aged 7-9 years old are overweight, the Armenian Health Ministry reports. Obesity is observed in 12.6% of children.
Studies show that the abuse of sweet drinks is fraught with the emergence of overweight and obesity in children.
They have a higher risk of health problems, including diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, other respiratory system diseases, sleep disorders, and liver disease.
Being overweight can also have psychological effects, such as depression, social isolation, and low self-esteem.
