First of all, the specialist recommends eating fruits. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytochemicals, and fiber, which helps to slow digestion and stabilize sugar levels.

Vegetables should also be consumed, which would be a very winning combination, according to the expert. Whole-grain products should also be in the diet, because they help slow the release of sugar in the blood and prolong the feeling of satiety.

Specialist also recommends supplementing your diet with legumes. They have a lot of fiber and protein, in addition, they have a low glycemic index.

Finally, nuts and seeds are very useful for diabetics, as they contain a lot of protein, fiber and healthy fats, which will be long absorbed by the body, so there will not be a spike in blood sugar. What's more, nuts will help promote heart health, according to Pulde.
