What fruits contribute to accumulation of fat in belly area?

As you age, your body may produce less insulin, causing blood sugar and fatty acid levels to rise. This can lead to gaining excess weight, and more often the fat will accumulate in the abdominal area, nutritionist Michael Mosley says.

Not only elderly people, but also women during menopause are prone to this problem, Daily Express writes.

To get rid of belly fat, Mosley recommends cutting down on sugar and carbohydrate intake. In particular, he advises eating less mangoes and pineapples, and not drinking too many sweet smoothies and juices. Both juices and the fruits listed above, according to the specialist, can contribute to the accumulation of fat in the abdominal area.

According to the nutritionist, weight watchers should replace processed carbohydrates, such as white bread, chips and pasta, with slow-release energy sources, such as brown rice or quinoa.

He also suggests trying interval fasting and short, high-intensity workouts.
