Sometimes the Omicron coronavirus strain manifests itself with a number of skin problems, including so-called "covid fingers," urticaria, inflammation, and cracked lips. Scientists from G.N. Gabrichevsky Research Institute have explained the cause of such manifestations. As Izvestia reports, the rash in omicron is most often associated with the mechanism of the virus, rather than with allergies. Moreover, usually more pronounced rashes occur in patients in a more severe condition. Such manifestations may indicate immune system disorders or be caused by taking medications.Experts report that skin symptoms of coronavirus are found in about 5% of patients. They may appear as rashes all over the body, or they may be subtle on the palms of the hands, fingers, or other places. If symptoms persist after recovery, experts recommend seeing a doctor.
