Flu Vaccination Has Started in Armenia: Foreign Nationals Can Also Get Vaccinated Free of Charge

Vaccination against influenza began across Armenia on September 17, 2026. All medical facilities have been supplied with the necessary stock of vaccines. Zaruhi Grigoryan, Deputy Director General of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Armenia, said this at a press conference today, September 23.

“To improve access to vaccination, mobile vaccination points have been set up in several administrative districts of Yerevan, where people can receive vaccines against influenza, COVID-19, pertussis, measles, rubella, and human papillomavirus (HPV).

At present, three mobile vaccination points are operating — in the Vernissage Park area, at Republic Square, and near Gai Avenue. Their locations will change in the future; however, the vaccination point at Vernissage will operate throughout the entire vaccination period, until December 4. The mobile vaccination points are open from 10:00 to 16:00.

At present, all polyclinics have been supplied with vaccines, and people can visit them and get vaccinated. Influenza vaccination is available regardless of citizenship and whether a person is registered with a particular medical facility, and it is provided free of charge. Foreign nationals can also get vaccinated free of charge,” she said.

Meanwhile, Svetlana Grigoryan, Head of the Immunization Department at the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Armenia, noted:

“Seasonal influenza vaccination is recommended for people in high-risk groups. These include people over 65, pregnant women, children aged 6 months to 5 years, people receiving services at social care centers and their staff, as well as military personnel. Influenza is more likely to be severe and cause complications among people in these groups.

Vaccination is also available to people with musculoskeletal disorders. In such cases, the medical organization where the person is registered can arrange seasonal influenza vaccination at their place of residence.

People who are not in high-risk groups can also seek vaccination. There are no restrictions in this regard.”

Speaking about the epidemiological situation, Svetlana Grigoryan said that the situation is currently stable. According to her, the season for acute respiratory infections in Armenia begins in the first week of October, while circulation of the influenza virus itself is usually recorded in November–December.
