Girl returns to dancing after insertion of 2 titanium rods in her back (PHOTOS)

A highland dancer from Scotland is back in her kilt just six months after a crippling spinal condition.
Isla Robertson, 15, was left in agonizing pain and bed-bound after developing a curve in her back caused by Scheuermann’s disease, The Daily Mail reported.

The condition forced her to give up dancing—a passion she had enjoyed since the age of six.
But she underwent a seven-hour corrective surgery to fix the curve in November.

The schoolgirl said before the spinal fusion surgery that she struggled to go to school as well.
In the operation, surgeons inserted two titanium rods in her back, held in place by 15 bolts.
But doctors warned the family there was no guarantee Isla would dance again, even if the operation was successful.

May Hughes, who runs the dance school where Isla is a pupil, however, said Isla is already back at the tap-dance class, but she will have to wait a bit longer before she goes back to Highland dancing.
