Study shows vacation is good for the heart

June 24, 2019  23:45

According to experts at the University of Syracuse, people who rest often throughout the year run a lower risk of having cardiovascular diseases.

Sixty people answered questions about rest. Scientists checked to see if they had any heart problems or problems with blood vessels, focusing on blood pressure, as well as the level of triglycerides, cholesterol and glucose in the blood.

Based on the study, the development of the metabolic syndrome was less likely among those who have rested often throughout the year. In addition, an additional vacation reduces the probability by 24%.

What is noteworthy is the fact that almost all the participants of the survey stated that the level of stress was low during vacation.

The results are published in the Journal of Psychology & Health.
