Men's restrooms are a real "heaven" for bacteria
Based on an analysis of men’s restrooms, there are six times more bacteria in men’s restrooms than in women’s restrooms, and they are almost five times more than on the toilet seat. Overall, samples taken from the doorknobs of 24 doors of men’s and women’s restrooms in the offices of London.
The Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) states that men rarely wash their hands in the restroom compared to women, and this is the reason for the spread of bacteria towards polluted surfaces (i.e. doorknobs). Honorary Professor of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Sally Bloomfield states that it is extremely important to follow the rules of hygiene since many people touch doorknobs of restrooms.
In this regard, the professor recommends men not washing after using the restroom to at least keep disinfectants for hands in the workplace.
