152 out of 202 intensive care unit beds occupied, Armenian health minister says

Currently 202 beds in intensive care units of hospitals have been mobilized to fight COVID-19, 152 of which are already occupied, Armenian health minister Arsen Torosyan said on Friday.

According to him, there are still free beds at the moment, but they can be occupied very quickly.

Citizens whose condition remains stable or slow to recovery usually spend about 20 days in the intensive care unit, he added noting that it is not ruled out that a moment will come when even the mobilized resources will not be enough.

In that case, we will have to involve the whole healthcare system in the process of treating patients with coronavirus infection, which, according to the minister, is highly undesirable, as it will cause a number of problems.
