Three people in Armenia are diagnosed with both H3 flu and coronavirus

Three people in Armenia have been diagnosed with both the H3 subtype of influenza and the coronavirus. Romella Abovyan, head of the Epidemiology Department of Nosocomial Infections of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, told this to NEWS.am Medicine.

All three patients are in treatment, but, according to the specialist, it is too early to say anything about their condition at this time.

Abovyan reminded that for years there has been a system of selective epidemiological oversight of acute respiratory infections and influenza in Armenia, within the framework of which during the flu and STI season, samples are received from selected medical institutions, and these samples are examined in the laboratory to identify the strains circulating in the country.

And according to these studies, the H3 subtype of influenza A is circulating in Armenia this year. Moreover, three patients have already been detected in whom the H3 influenza infection is accompanied by the coronavirus infection.
