Armenia health minister: AstraZeneca vaccine against coronavirus will be available in Yerevan, provinces on Monday

YEREVAN. – At the moment, Armenia will use the AstraZeneca vaccine against the coronavirus. The American FDA, the European Medicines Agency, and the World Health Organization have issued their findings on this vaccine. No cause-and-effect relationship was found between the reported side effects and the vaccination. Minister of health Anahit Avanesyan told reporters about this on Thursday.

According to her, the council of specialists under the Ministry of Health of Armenia is closely following the respective developments, and a meeting is scheduled for Friday to discuss a change in vaccine guidelines in Germany that raises the age limit for the vaccine.

"We will build our actions accordingly," the minister said, adding that she advises everyone to get vaccinated, as it will help them return to normal life as soon as possible.

As per the health minister of Armenia, the aforesaid AstraZeneca vaccines have yet to be cleared through customs and undergo a number of other processes, they are expected to be available in the capital Yerevan and the provinces on Monday, April 5; but before that, meetings are being held with the directors of the polyclinics of the country, the capacity of the first aid kits of these polyclinics is being checked, they are being replenished, and respective training courses are being held.
