Why some people get Covid several times but others never do?

Some people have contracted the coronavirus many times in the last two years, whereas others have never been infected with it. Some immunologists believe that this "impermeability" of some people is due to natural immunity.

A study is being conducted in the UK, whose researchers want to find out whether some people may have antibodies that can fight against the coronavirus even before the onset of this pandemic.

According to researchers, the blood and cells of such people can help to better understand the nature of immunity, as well as help to create a vaccine that is effective against any type of COVID-19.

Does this mean that people who become infected are deprived of immunity to the coronavirus? No, it does not, says Danny Altmann, a Professor of Immunology at Imperial College London. According to him, the virus which was registered despite the vaccination can be explained by a number of factors, and it is important to understand that the vaccine that provides some protection does not create "universal" immunity.

Attempts have already been made during the pandemic to find out whether there is a natural immunity to the coronavirus. In particular, the University College London researchers, who studied cases of infection among medical staff, have found that some people suffer from "abortive infections." They had no antibodies to the coronavirus, but their T cell counts were above average, indicating that their bodies were neutralizing the virus by not allowing it to penetrate deep into the body. That is, they were able to fight the coronavirus without being vaccinated or immunized after this disease; that is, they had natural immunity.
