Georgia confirms monkeypox case in country

Laboratory tests have revealed a case of monkeypox in Georgia, according to the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC) of the country.

Specialists note that the course of the illness was mild, the infected man had been infected abroad, and he has already recovered and been discharged from hospital, News-Georgia reported.

"He has a history of traveling in Europe. His contacts were being monitored, and no clinical signs were found in any case," the respective official statement reads, in particular.
