About 150 children remain in Nork Infectious Clinical Hospital, while two third of them are suffering from intestinal infections, acting director of the hospital Eduard Zardaryan told NEWS.am Medicine.
According to him, the number of children with intestinal infections has increased significantly in recent weeks compared with winter and spring, while the infectious agents causing this disease are different - both viral and bacterial.
The lifestyle and daily habits of children increases incidence of intestinal illnesses, because, as a rule, children neither wash their hands before eating, nor they wash fruits and vegetables.
Swimming in an artificial waters is also very dangerous, as such water has many pathogens that enter the body of the child along with swallowed water.
According to the director of the hospital, it is also dangerous to stay in the sun for a long time as due to sunstroke, children often have diarrhea and vomiting, and any pathogens in a weakened organism can lead to the development of infectious diseases.
