WHO: COVID-19 airborne transmission cannot be ruled out

July 8, 2020  12:03

The World Health Organization (WHO) has not ruled out a COVID-19 airborne transmission, BBC reported.

According to the WHO, there is emerging evidence that COVID-19 can be spread by tiny particles suspended in the air and if the evidence is confirmed, it may affect recommendations for indoor spaces.

The WHO's technical lead for infection prevention and control Benedetta Allegranzi said that emerging evidence in "crowded, closed, poorly ventilated settings that have been described, cannot be ruled out".
