The daughter of Anush Nersisyan, who recovered after getting infected with COVID-19 in April and being in an extremely critical condition for 40 days, was born at a medical center in Yerevan.

According to representative of the medical center’s emergency reception room Karen Tonoyan, Nersisyan, who was 29 weeks pregnant, was admitted to the medical center in extremely critical condition and was diagnosed with total two-sided pneumonia. The patient’s condition got worse for nearly a week, and she was put on a ventilator at the reanimation unit for a month.

Thanks to doctors’ efforts and round-the-clock discussions, Anush’s life was saved. During the last weeks of her pregnancy, Nersisyan was under the supervision of the medical center’s senior gynecologist-obstetrician.

“COVID-19 was hell for me, and I didn’t think I would overcome it. I wasn’t thinking about my life as much as I was thinking about my child who was left at home and my newborn. I can’t thank the doctors and nurses enough,” Nersisyan recalls.

Nersisyan’s child was born 40 weeks old through a C-section, and the mother and daughter were discharged from the maternity ward healthy.
