The effectiveness of the coronavirus vaccines is reduced by 40% five months after the injection of their second dose, according to researchers from the Italian National Institute of Health, TASS reported.

According to experts, the effectiveness of the inoculations for the prevention of COVID-19 decreases from 71.5% down to 30.1% 150 days after the end of the cycle of these vaccinations.

At the same time, the effectiveness of inoculations in the prevention of severe cases of this disease remains high—at 92.7%—within five months after vaccination, and 82.2%—in those who were vaccinated more than 150 days prior.
