A miscarriage saved a Scottish resident from a deadly disease, writes BBC News.Laura Strathearn, 35, became pregnant in September 2020. In the 12th week of her pregnancy, she went for a routine checkup and found out that the fetus had no heartbeat. A few days later, Laura miscarried. After that, she took a vacation to recover.While on vacation, she noticed a blue vein on her right breast and thought it was a consequence of the pregnancy. After waiting for a while, Laura went to her general practitioner, who referred her to a clinic specializing in the treatment of breast diseases. There she was suspected of having breast cancer. Subsequent examinations confirmed her suspicion and showed that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes.
