Boy born with a 4 INCH crack across his entire skull

These shocking pictures show a six-year-old boy who has a four-inch deep crack across his entire skull - that's getting bigger by the week.

Pheaktra Pov was born with a small crevice on the top of his skull, but doctors were baffled and sent him home.

Over time, the slit in his head has continued to get deeper and wider - now covering from his forehead to the base of his skull.

Experts remain unsure as to what has caused the issue, which was spotted when his mother, Srey, 40, was seven months pregnant.

His family remain determined to find a cure, despite medics saying there is nothing they can do as it was spotted 'too late'.

His grandmother, Thorn Hong, 67, wheels Pheaktra every weekend to the Angkor Watt temple in Siem Reap province, Cambodia.

There, they beg for donations to try and fund possible treatment, scraping together about £5 a day.

'Pheaktra was born with a crack in his head and it's getting bigger all the time. I can put my hand inside the middle, it is very big.

'Doctors do not know what has caused this and they said there is nothing they can do.'

'Until he was five years old it seemed like there was water inside his head and it was swelling and getting bigger.

'We pray everyday for somebody in the world that knows how to fix this.'

Pheaktra's father left before he was born, leaving just his mother and grandmother to look after him. 

Local charities supply free medicine to him but it is to prevent seizures and has no effect on the bizarre crack in his head. 

This comes just a day after claims that another Cambodian was left with 'no face' after catching a flesh-eating bacteria from routine dental work.

Suth Ret, 18, developed necrotising fasciitis following a minor procedure in December to have one of her teeth removed.

Having not had her wound treated quickly enough, bacteria that existed in her throat found its way into her bloodstream.
