Hurting tooth appeared to be rare dangerous infection

July 30, 2019  16:29

A 48-year-old Brooklyn man could not imagine that his hurting tooth would lead to hospitalization, News 12 New Jersey reported.

Mike Louisor, 48, developed Ludwig's angina, an infection that forms in the floor of the mouth. It has the ability to push the tongue backwards and potentially suffocate a patient.

The infection is very uncommon, but the doctors fortunately recognized the symptoms. The infection is so dangerous, there is only a 20% survival rate if not treated in time.
