Woman, 21, dies in Yerevan after cesarean section

A 21-year-old Armenian woman died at the ‘Armenia' Medical Center on Tuesday, the chief surgeon of the medical center Arsen Grigoryan told NEWS.am Medicine.

According to him, for several days, doctors fought for her life as her life was in danger.

The woman at 7-8 months of pregnancy was transported to Yerevan on July 22. The fetus was dead, and at the Republican Institute of Reproductive Health, Perinatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, she was given a caesarean section, and then she was transported to the ‘Armenia’ Medical Center.

The patient had severe respiratory failure and serious problems with blood clotting, the so-called DIC - a pathology in which blood clots are formed in the microvasculature in conjunction with blood clotting.

The doctors fought for her life for several days, but they could not save her: on July 30, the woman passed away.
