American gynecologist clarifies what side effects are for Gardasil in US?

Some girls faint after vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV), and this is the most common 'side effect' of vaccination. In the US, about 25 such cases have been reported during vaccine use, Gynecologist Steward Mason (US) told NEWS.am Medicine.

According to him, the cause of fainting is not the vaccine, but the impressionability of the girls: some of them are so afraid of injections that they faint and can hit their head if no one has time to catch them. And although this happens extremely rarely, a warning about a possible fainting as a side effect has been included in the vaccine instructions.

Dr. Mason did not experience fainting or any other side effects of vaccination, although 95% of his patients, according to him, received the vaccine.

Another possible side effect is an allergic reaction to any of the proteins contained in the vaccine. According to Dr. Mason, allergy sufferers are often sensitive to most vaccines, so allergies are known in childhood, and these people are usually not vaccinated - or vaccinated only because they are definitely not allergic.

Asked to comment whether HPV vaccination can cause infertility, the doctor noted that this is simply impossible: there are no mechanisms by which the vaccine could affect fertility.

According to him, many people are not sufficiently informed about infertility and its causes: they often blame vaccines, worldwide conspiracies, and so on, forgetting about the real causes of this phenomenon. And the real causes may be, for example, pelvic inflammatory diseases, infections like gonorrhea and chlamydia, and others: if you do not treat all these diseases, they can lead to problems with patency of the fallopian tubes, and a woman will not be able to become pregnant.

If people get more information about the real causes of infertility, they may be more careful, start using condoms during sexual intercourse to avoid becoming infected with potentially dangerous infections, they will be periodically checked for these infections and treated in case of detection, and then the prevalence of infertility can significantly to decline.
