A sharp bluish or reddish skin tone can be an important symptom indicating blood clots in the limb.

According to the Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the presence of blood clots can also indicate persistent swelling on the arms and legs, pain, as in convulsions.

The risk of blood clots is increased in people with diabetes, obesity, as well as in people over 60 years of age. Typically, blood clots form against a background of reduced physical activity and a sedentary lifestyle. Sometimes deadly clots form in persons making long flights.

Sometimes the body independently gets rid of a blood clot. But there is always a chance of a blood clot entering the lungs and developing a pulmonary embolism, or a blood clot entering the brain or heart, then there will be a stroke or heart attack.

With an increased risk of thrombosis, experts recommend wearing compression stockings. Such stockings are advised to wear even under plaster, if there was an injury to the limbs.
