Arterial hypertension can develop not only in adults but also in children and adolescents. According to Russia's cardiologist Yulia Marshintseva, there may be several reasons for this.

Secondary hypertension usually occurs in children, she said, which has a non-vascular cause and is associated with hormone, kidney, or adrenal gland problems.

In some cases, high blood pressure in minors can occur due to overwork and lack of sleep.

Gadgets can also increase blood pressure, also the so-called vegetative-vascular dystonia, the specialist noted.

In adults, hypertension begins for other reasons, such as neurological. Often this problem appears in people who sleep little, get tired at work, and smoke. At the same time, smoking is an additional risk factor for the development of problems with blood pressure.

When a person gets enough sleep or goes on vacation, then without pills everything goes away by itself, Marshintseva told Zvezda TV channel.

The cardiologist added that with age, blood vessels lose their elasticity, so they need to be strengthened through sports, hardening, and control of blood cholesterol levels.
