War in Artsakh seriously affected psychological state of people, psychologist claims

The war in Artsakh seriously affected the psychological state of the inhabitants of Armenia and Artsakh.

According to the military psychologist Kristine Petrosyan, this war was the most difficult in the psychological sense - its consequences differ significantly from the consequences of the first war in Artsakh and the April war.

According to the psychologist, during the years of the first Artsakh war, people had a different way of thinking, a different attitude to the war. During the 2016 war, things were also different. The last war gave rise to many problems: many people feel deceived, a split has occurred among the families of the dead and missing, which has led to serious conflicts in society.

As the specialist noted, the hardest thing is to work with the relatives of the dead soldiers. Many of them have problems accepting reality, many worry that their relative does not have a grave and have nowhere to mourn him, others are sure that their relative is alive and in captivity. These people usually need the help of a psychologist to accept reality and cope with their pain, but many of them do not want to accept such help, claiming that they do not need it.

As for the children who were wounded and lost any part of their bodies in the war, the psychologist urged them not to lose heart, to remember that society and many specialists are with them and are always ready to help. Moreover, they should not forget that the eye, hand, leg or any other part of the body is not what defines them as a person, moreover, it is not the main thing in order to be a good person.
