Not all dried fruits are equally useful. Nutritionist Lyudmila Mikityuk has singled out the four most useful dried fruits and explained their features.

"The most common and useful dried fruits are raisins, apricots, persimmons, and black prunes. They are very nutritious. They contain three times more fiber, vitamins, and minerals than in fresh fruits. They can meet a higher percentage of the recommended daily allowance of nutrients. These sweets contain polyphenols, which are strong antioxidants," the specialist told RIA Novosti.

According to her, raisins contain potassium, vitamin B, it helps lower blood pressure, as well as reduce inflammatory processes in the body.

As per the nutritionist, black prunes are a natural relaxant. It is rich in potassium, fiber, and vitamins A and K. According to the specialist, this food reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, and due to the high density of boa, it helps to fight against osteoporosis.

"Persimmon is rich in iron, potassium, fiber. Persimmon is a ‘leader’ in antioxidants by which it helps reduce the damage caused by free radicals. It helps to enlarge the cervix in the last months of pregnancy. Dried apricots are a preventative of eye diseases. It is rich in fiber, potassium, vitamins A and C. It can provide 47 percent of the daily norm of vitamin A, which is good for our skin and eyes," the specialist added.

Also, Mikityuk advises not to forget that dried fruits preserve the calories of the whole fruit, so it is important to monitor the amount of dried fruits eaten. Otherwise, you can gain weight from these useful foods.
