Armenia to manufacture, export Sputnik Light vaccine

December 6, 2021  13:36

Armenia will manufacture the Russian Sputnik Light vaccine, which will also be exported to other countries.
This one-dose vaccine will be manufactured by Liqvor Pharmaceuticals.

As the director of this company, Sergey Matevosyan, told reporters, it is planned to carry out a full manufacture of this vaccine in Armenia—instead of just "bottling" it.

"This was an important success for both our company and our country," Matevosyan added.

According to him, Liqvor Pharmaceuticals can meet the annual demand for this vaccine in Armenia in just three working days, but the respective work will be mainly export-oriented.

Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan, in his turn, noted that at present negotiations are underway with a number of countries, but there are no export agreements yet.

And Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan stated that Armenia will also buy the Sputnik Light manufactured in the country, like it purchases all other vaccines, and they will be administered to the people free of charge.

At present, Sputnik Light is intended to be administered as a booster shot six months after receiving two doses of other coronavirus vaccines.
