Health minister: Ban on smoking at public food spots will come into force in Armenia on March 15

The ban on smoking at public food spots will come into force in Armenia on March 15, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan told reporters Monday.

According to her, a number of provisions of the anti-tobacco law came into force in the country on January 1; in particular, the advertising and display of tobacco products has been banned.

And the ban on smoking at public food spots will come into force on March 15.

"Unfortunately, very high rates of use of tobacco products are still maintained Armenia, and we must do everything possible to keep our citizens away from such harmful habits. And most importantly, we shall follow the spread of a healthy lifestyle among our next generation, our children, adolescents. If we deal only with taking care of patients or treatment of diseases, unfortunately, we cannot achieve public healthcare results," the health minister added.
