How can water help normalize blood pressure?

April 15, 2022  09:49

Ordinary water can help normalize blood pressure, nutritionist Evgeny Arzamastsev (Russia) said.

According to him, an unbalanced drinking regime contributes to problems with blood pressure - its instability, sharp fluctuations.

"When a person drinks not enough water, or drinks once in a while, there can be pressure fluctuations - one day its indicators are normal, the next day they are abnormal," said the specialist.

Such changes, according to Arzamastsev, are caused by the way the body redistributes the liquid inside the cells and in the space around the cells. There may be not enough fluid or, conversely, too much of it.

According to specialists, it helps to normalize blood pressure through the adequate intake of water - throughout the day in small portions. Its total volume may be one and a half to two liters. According to the nutritionist, drinking water in accordance with this principle will normalize the hormones responsible for the distribution of fluid in the cells of the body, which in turn will improve blood pressure.

Other effective measures available to improve blood pressure readings, the specialist considers reducing the amount of salt consumed and including foods rich in potassium and magnesium in the diet.
