Researchers from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston have pointed to seven habits that will reduce the probability of suffering a stroke.
As part of the respective study, the results of which were published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, researcher monitored 11,500 people aged 45-64.
The study showed that people following these habits lowered their risk of suffering a stroke by 30-43 percent.
According to these researchers, eating healthy food, doing sports on a regular basis, quitting smoking, and losing weight can minimize genetic risks.
Maintenance of normal blood pressure, and control of cholesterol and sugar levels are also factors that reduce the risk of stroke.
According to the aforementioned study, following these rules has helped to extend the average life expectancy—without stroke—by about six years.
