Currently construction works are carried out at 12 medical centers, Armenian Healthcare Minister Anahit Avanesyan told reporters on Thursday.

According to her, new programs on the improvement of outpatient facilities are envisaged by the state budget next year.

"This is a very important direction because in terms of infrastructure and equipment we are reaching a satisfactory level in the hospital sphere, what cannot be said about the primary level," she said.

"Capital expenditures should be focused on this," she added.

Avanesyan said the government plans to completely renovate and reconstruct 20 rural outpatient clinics next year.

"In addition, extensive work is being done in Yerevan as well," the minister said.
