What kind of male figure women like, research finds out

Heterosexual women like men with broad shoulders, but only if they are tall, researchers from the University of British Columbia have found, Archives of Sexual Behavior reported.

In four studies involving 659 heterosexual women, researchers found out how men's height and shoulder to hip ratio affect perceptions of attractiveness, masculinity and fighting ability. Participants were shown images of male bodies between 160 and 190 cm tall.

The women liked images of tall and broad-shouldered men more. But broad shoulders were perceived as a positive trait only in taller men and did not add to the attractiveness of lower men.
