Expert: 123 new coronavirus cases recorded in Armenia over past 14 days

A total of 123 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in Armenia in the past 14 days. Romella Abovyan, head of the Epidemiology Department of Nosocomial Infections at the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, told about this to a press conference Friday.

Abovyan added that this is seven less than in the previous 14 days.

"Low indicators were recorded also in terms of hospitalization of patients with coronavirus. According to the World Health Organization data, there is no worldwide strain of concern. The omicron strain is mainly circulating all over the world, including in Armenia," said Abovyan.

She reminded that the target groups for vaccination against the coronavirus are people aged 65 and older, people with chronic diseases, as well as medical workers.
