Nutrients: consuming ginseng speeds up recovery after exercise

A study by a team of scientists from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya in Spain has shown that ginseng consumption promotes rapid recovery from exercise, improves performance and reduces the risk of injury. The results of the scientific work are published in the journal Nutrients.

It is noted that the scientific work is a review of more than 700 studies, which previously studied the influence of various factors (including nutrition) on the effectiveness of sports. According to the results, the consumption of ginseng has a direct effect on reducing fatigue after exercise. Strengthening the body's ability to self-repair is directly related to reducing the risk of various injuries during subsequent exercise.

Scientists have also found out that active biological compounds contained in ginseng have powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. They are able to regulate levels of cortisol, a stress hormone, thereby improving many of the body's metabolic functions and helping the immune system function properly.

In addition, researchers have found that systematic consumption of ginseng over a long period of time can reduce the body's concentration of the biological markers creatine kinase (CK) and interleukin 6 (IL-6), which are responsible for muscle damage and inflammation caused by exercise.
