The online prescription system in Armenia is being regulated on a daily basis, as both prescribers and patients are learning and getting used to the system. Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan said this during a briefing with reporters after the government’s Cabinet meeting Thursday.

"More than 90,000 online prescriptions already have been issued these days, which indicates that the system is working very actively," Avanesyan said.

But at the same time, she apologized to the people, as it takes some time before implementing any system so that all chains work in harmony.

"Employees of all chains are trying to organize the work smoothly. In a few days, I think the problems will be much less," added the health minister.

As of March 1, a total of 470 separate medical drugs are being sold in Armenia with online prescriptions, of which 375 are free and discounted drugs. Twenty percent of the medical drugs that are registered in Armenia have been included in the online prescription system, and there are 3,370 separate drugs registered in Armenia in total.

As of January 1, 2025, a total of 2,566 separate medicines will be sold online in Armenia. The rest will be sold without prescriptions, as they are not included in the list of mandatory prescription drugs.
