Which foods are rich in calcium, folate, iodine and iron?

Children who skip breakfast tend to have weaker health than those who regularly eat their breakfast, according to a new study. Those who skip breakfast do not receive the necessary amount of nutrients, including calcium, folic acid, iodine and iron.

What foods are rich in these substances?

Good sources of calcium:

  • milk
  • cheese
  • yogurt

Good sources of iron:

  • red meat
  • fish
  • poultry

Good sources of folate:

  • spinach
  • broccoli
  • asparagus

Good sources of iodine:

  • tuna
  • salmon
  • shrimp

Experts recommend to regularly eat these foods - both for children and adults. Nutrients from these foods help strengthen the bones of children, improve their metabolism and brain function. In adults, they will help to maintain the health of bones and the whole body.
