Drinking alcohol linked to cognitive decline

July 22, 2019  10:57

Drinking alcohol is bad for our health, and now it is linked to a cognitive decline.

Experts have made a disappointing conclusion: symptoms of cognitive decline can be observed in people drinking at the age of 55 years.

The study analyzed data on the health status of more than 5 thousand men and 2 thousand women, whose average age was 46 years.

During 10 years of research, volunteers answered three times questions regarding the amount of alcohol they consumed.

Upon completion of the observations, their cognitive abilities were tested twice and it turned out that men’s craving for alcohol hurts memory, as well as on functions related to attention and judgment.
