Ultrasound can help see image of brain

July 23, 2019  17:20

American scientists have introduced the alternative to endoscopic methods for research. Specialists of Carnegie-Melon University have offered to use ultrasound to get an optical picture of biological tissues.

During an experiment, the scientists showed that ultrasound can help effectively focus the visible light within tissues. Researchers are certain that this method can become revolutionary in the field of visualization of organs and tissues.

Scientists believe the technical solutions required for implementation of the innovative method can be used in mobile devices to help see the images of the organs that need to be seen.

The creators of the new method say it can be used for the study and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, as well as during research on the brain and blood vessels.

The results of the study have been published in Nature Communications magazine.
