The third mobile diagnostic and treatment complex was received by Armenia as a gift from Russian government.
The first mobile diagnostic and treatment complex was donated to Armenia in May 2014.
Over the years, two mobile laboratories have conducted thousands of studies on HIV infection, viral hepatitis, and more recently on syphilis. Arriving in remote areas, mobile clinic specialists conduct free and completely confidential studies among the local population, usually denied access to this kind of testing.
According to head of National Center for AIDS Prevention Samvel Grigoryan, if in the past Armenians were embarrassed to get tested for HIV infection, today the situation has changed.
The specialist recalled that thanks to such tests, many new HIV cases have been detected.
