2,073 children born in Karabakh in 2019, 31 of them are twins
Throughout 2019, 1,994 children were born at clinics and hospitals of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic), including 1,015 boys and 979 girls.
Out of the regions, the most births were recorded in Martakert (159 children), followed by Martuni (88), Hadrut (36), Shahumyan (9) and Kashatagh (4).
As a result, overall, 2,073 children were born in the Republic of Artsakh throughout the year, including 1,058 boys and 1,015 girls. Out of the births, there are 31 twins.
The Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Artsakh is carrying out activities to improve the building conditions of state-run and benevolent medical institutions and upgrade the equipment in those clinics and hospitals.
In December 2019, the new building of the regional medical clinic in Kashatagh was opened and houses a childbirth unit equipped with the latest medical equipment.
