There have been many studies on the effectiveness of vitamin D in the prevention and treatment of coronavirus infection, and the results have often been conflicting.

Experts from leading universities in Ireland claim that this vitamin may be effective in preventing coronavirus.

According to the Irish Independent, referring to a number of studies and the experience of other countries, experts sent a letter to the Irish government, suggesting that vitamin D be included in the list of effective means for preventing coronavirus.

According to them, daily intake of vitamin D can significantly reduce the risk of contracting COVID_19, protect from severe illness and death. Experts suggest taking this vitamin as a preventive recommendation along with hand washing, social distancing, wearing masks, and airing the premises. According to them, it is impossible to get a sufficient amount of this element naturally - through nutrition, as well as sunlight, especially in winter.

According to experts, the optimal daily dose of the vitamin, which should be taken during a pandemic, is 20-25 micrograms. Elderly people, overweight patients, and people with dark skin should first consult with their doctor.
