What do you need to do to stay young? Therapist Tomi Mitchell told Eat This, Not That! his opinion!

Giving up sugar

First of all, the expert recommends giving up eating excessive amounts of sugar.

"Sugar is one of the leading causes of premature aging. It contributes to wrinkles, age spots, and sagging skin. It also increases your risk for heart disease, diabetes, and other health problems," said the specialist.

Sleep

Another important factor in staying young is getting enough sleep. Mitchell said that adults need 7-8 hours of sleep, and if it is not enough, the body produces more cortisol - the stress hormone, excessive amounts of which are directly linked with premature aging.

Physical exercise

"Exercise is another critical factor in staying young. It helps increase energy levels, reduces stress, and improves overall health," Mitchell said.

Water

Drink 8 to 10 glasses of pure water per day, as water is vital for all your organs, and may have a positive effect on your skin's health and slow down aging.

Nutrition

Mitchell recommends adding fruits and vegetables to your daily diet as much as possible, as they provide the organism with antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients which are necessary for maintaining health and youthfulness.

Also, the expert recommends eating more lean meat, such as chicken or turkey, and avoid store-bought convenience foods. Meat is a source of protein, which is essential for beauty and health.

Stress

A physician believes that reducing stress levels will help keep you healthy and youthful. Mitchell advises getting more exercise and yoga to help you tolerate stress more easily.
