Changes in the weather can provoke joint pain if a person has an aggravated rheumatic disease. This opinion was expressed by rheumatologist Dmitry Karateev.

The specialist named the possible causes of joint pain, Ura.ru reports.

"As a rule, joint pain does not occur in a completely healthy person, but in someone who has certain diseases. We are talking about rheumatic diseases such as osteoarthritis. These diseases are characterized by seasonality. That is, the development of deterioration in those periods when the weather changes, the temperature changes, the humidity, and so on. If suddenly there is no disease, but in the spring, joints become painful, it is better to see a doctor", said the specialist.

The specialist also recommends people who have had coronavirus infection to monitor the condition of the joints more closely. Sometimes joint pain, he said, can be a manifestation of postviral syndrome.
