How does long-lasting rain affect human health?

Therapist Svetlana Kuprina spoke about how long-lasting rains affect human health, reported Izvestia daily of Russia.

According to her, rains and high humidity can negatively affect the condition of the human body.

"The high humidity of the air, combined with the high temperature of the environment, makes it difficult for the heat exchange between the human body and the environment—due to the reduction of the evaporation of sweat from the surface of the skin," Kuprina said.

The doctor emphasized that this can lead to a decrease in ability to work, early fatigue, and weakness.

She noted that atmospheric pressure also decreases in rainy weather, and the air contains less oxygen.

"People with illnesses of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems are especially sensitive to the decrease in atmospheric pressure," warned the specialist.

The doctor added that a decrease in atmospheric pressure can also lead to an increase in intracranial pressure, which causes a headache, reports Moscow 24 television.
