Yerevan to host third annual conference on 'The Impact of Bad Habits on Public Health'

The Conference "The Impact of Bad Habits on Public Health" is an annual medical conference organised by BIL:Armenia together with Armenian Medical Association.

In 2022, the conference will take place for the 3rd time and will gather approximately 300 healthcare professionals from Armenia, United Kingdom, Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other countries in Yerevan. The date of the Conference for2022 is set to be the November 5th.

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), are the number one cause of human death globally and are the result of a combination of genetic, physiological, environmental and behavioral factors.

The behavioral habits, also known as bad habits include those activities that both, harm human health and restrict a person from the full use of one’s abilities throughout life. During this conference local and international medical professionals will talk about the impact of bad habits on individual and public health, as well as the ways of reducing their negative impact.

The conference will concentrate on 5 main topic areas. The conference will start by a general session, after which there will be 2 breakout sessions.

Main topic areas for the conference will be:

  • Public Health
  • Cardiovascular diseases
  • Respiratory diseases
  • Gastroenterological diseases
  • Oncological dieases

Currently, work is underway on accrediting the conference, which will be announced later.
