Girl not diagnosed with rare disease in time is deprived of ability to eat

Eloise Christine, 25, from the United Kingdom, is forced to eat through a tube after undergoing botched surgeries that prevented her from eating normally,  Metro reports.

At 18, Eloise began vomiting after every meal. The girl went to the hospital, but doctors failed to notice her rare disease and diagnosed her with an eating disorder. For several years, the girl continued to suffer from nausea, and after numerous hospitalizations, Christine's mother forced doctors to conduct additional tests.

The results of the new tests revealed that Christine had malrotation, a rare congenital abnormality of the bowel that consists of its inability to take a normal position in the abdomen. "Everything I eat makes me nauseous. My intestines and stomach are twisted, so the food reaches a certain place and then can't go any further, and I get nauseous," the girl explains.

Eloise was fitted with a gastrostomy tube, with which she could eat and receive nutrients. She later underwent three surgeries to correct her malrotation, but all of them were unsuccessful. As a result, the girl was forced to eat through a tube.

Christine became insecure because she could not go to cafes with friends. The girl admits that sometimes she breaks down and eats her favorite food, despite the fact that afterwards she suffers from bouts of nausea.

To cope with her difficult mental state, Christine began blogging on social media. Communicating with people who have similar problems helps to cope with them much easier. After all, these are people who know exactly how you feel, she says. The girl wants to educate users and give fellow sufferers hope for recovery.
