Ministry of Health of Armenia: Laboratory-confirmed measles cases increased by 27 compared to the previous week

Measles is most often contracted by unvaccinated or under-vaccinated people.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed in the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic, laboratory confirmed cases of measles increased by 27 compared to the previous week.

Measles is an acute viral anthroponotic disease. The virus is transmitted by airborne droplets. Transmission of the virus through contaminated objects and from third parties is excluded.

Measles vaccination is given in 2 doses.

According to the national vaccination calendar, the first dose is given at 12 months of age and the second dose at 4-6 years of age.
