Coffee may be beneficial for cardiovascular system, research claims

Coffee can be beneficial for the cardiovascular system and positively influence the risk of heart failure, said scientists from the University of Colorado and the American Heart Association.

In a study published in the journal Circulation: Heart Failure, scientists used artificial intelligence to analyze data from three large-scale US studies of more than 21,000 American adults to determine how coffee affects the risk of heart failure. All these studies were devoted to the study of risk factors for cardiovascular diseases.

As it turned out, people who regularly drink at least one cup of coffee a day have a reduced risk of developing heart failure during their lifetime. Every additional cup of coffee a day reduces this risk by 5-12%. According to other sources, people who drink at least 2 cups of coffee a day have a 30% lower risk of heart failure than those who do not drink coffee at all.

However, all of this applies to coffee that contains caffeine, and decaf coffee either does not affect the risk of heart failure at all or even increases it.
