Which foods reduce risk of developing diabetes?

Consumption of certain foods can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, which is usually caused by eating wrong, according to researchers from the University of Alberta (Canada) and the Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (Iran).

The Nutrition Journal reports that dairy products can reduce the risk of developing diabetes.

Researchers have long studied the health condition of 639 volunteers. Nine years later, 25 percent of them developed diabetes.

Those who increased their consumption of dairy products had a lower (43%) risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

This disease was less common in those who included low-fat yogurts in their diet, as the respective risk was reduced by 27 percent.

According to biologists, the enzymes contained in yogurt can have a positive effect on the production of glucose in the body.

At the same time, cheese has had a negative effect on the health condition of people prone to diabetes, and therefore, researchers have advised to eat it in small quantities.
